Lace & Embroidery Modelbuch

Links to Pre-1600 Modelbuch, or Model books, containing lace  and embroidery patterns

Siebmacher, Johann: Schön Neues Modelbuch von allerley lustigen Mödeln naczunehen, zuwürcken unn zusticken, gemacht im Jar Ch. 1597, Nurmberg 1597 [VD16 S 6256]

It has embroidery pattern graphs, mainly counted work, in a wide variety of widths and complexity.
A nice graph of an Imperial eagle
It has smock neckline embroidery patterns with the design for the bottom of the neckline slit already graphed out.
Drawn thread work patterns at least I think they are, they may also be reticella.

Siebmacher, Johann: New Modelbuch, darinnen allerley gattungen schöner Mödeln der Newen außgeschnitnen Arbeit … zuneyen, Basel [1596] [VD16 N 1328]
Lots of lace patterns, I think they are mainly Reticella and Punto Aria, but may be bobbin lace patterns as well. I’m not a lace maker, so my knowledge of lace pattern types is limited.

Vinciolo, Federico di: New Modelbuch, Straßburg 1594 [VD16 V 1226]

Very beautiful and detailed needle lace patterns. Toward the back there are some designs that could be used for net darning.

If you’re outside the US, the Google books link probably won’t work, here’s one that should (PDF)
